Are you thinking about speeding past a garbage truck? Trash that thought.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 1, it is illegal to speed past garbage trucks in New York State. The law requires motorists to slow down when approaching and driving around trucks that have stopped to collect garbage or recycling.
